BJP legislature party leader P Vishnukumar Raju has strongly objected the move of the Andhra Pradesh government to replicate land pooling system in Visakhapatnam district and demanded CB CID probe into the whole episode.
Though the system was implemented well in Amaravati region, by which the state government succeeded in acquiring 33,000 acres land for the new capital formation, the BJP leader accuses gross injustice to be done in Visakhapatnam district by the way in which the government is implementing here.
He accused that the land was taken over by real estate brokers, pushing poor farmers away. He alleged that great injustice was done to the poor farmers as the middlemen and brokers began taking away the lands by giving Rs 1 lakh as advance and by taking signatures on blank papers.
He alleged that the officials failed to give publicity of the land pooling. As a result, he said that the farmers were not aware of the fact that the government is acquiring their lands.
Citing the examples where the government took over 60 acres of assigned land in Soubhagyapuram of Pendurti mandal, 48 acres in Kommadi, 14 acres in Nerellavalasa and 50 acres in Gandigundam villages, he flayed that the poor farmers incurred heavy losses with the pooling.
He further warned that the BJP will not keep mum to the injustice being meted out to the poor farmers. He said that he would bring this issue to the notice of the government.
