It is a political trend now to associate rivals to the President of the United States Donald Trump. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu circuitously compared Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy to Trump. The similarities of Jagan and Trump are yet to be seen.
POTUS earlier today tweeted “It is a disgrace that my full Cabinet is still not in place, the longest such delay in the history of our country. Obstruction by Democrats!”
However, it is easy to draw parallels between the lives of these leaders. The TDP circles in Andhra Pradesh have been waiting for cabinet expansion or reshuffle after Chandrababu hinted about it almost a year ago. It was earlier thought that October will be the time during Vijayadasami, later it was postponed to Sankranthi.
The hopes of the aspirants looking for a ministerial berth in Andhra Pradesh are at its peak which comprises of the migrants from YSRCP, TDP seniors, BJP and the first family of the party including N Lokesh and N Bala Krishna. However, NTR’s son NBK said that his son-in-law will be inducted and there are hardly any chances for the Hindupur MLA himself.
As the election commission announced MLC elections in the state, the ruling party has been witnessing hectic lobbying among aspirants in the party. Most of the party leaders are seeking seats from MLAs and Governor quotas only. The CM’s son himself is taking the MLC route and is all set to be inducted in the cabinet. The polling will be held on March 9 and the votes will be counted on March 15. It is likely that the new cabinet will be formed by Ugadi.
There is only half tenure left before the next elections. There is no representation for the minorities and the Muslims in current Cabinet. So it is yet to be known if the opposition migrants from YSRCP or nepotism is delaying the cabinet expansion. While trump is clear that Democrats are obstructing his cabinet, Chandrababu may want to clear the air soon.
