With the `official’ announcement of TDP MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna that his son-in-law and TDP’s general secretary Nara Lokesh would be inducted into Chandrababu Naidu’s cabinet very soon, the stage is said to be get ready for his elevation. Chandrababu Naidu has been postponing the same since more than a year, apparently due to pressures from Balakrishna showing keen interest to be part of the cabinet.
However, according to reliable sources it was intervention of Balakrishna’s daughter and Lokesh’s wife Brahmani, finally Naidu was forced to choose one among them. It is learnt that she has expressed her discontent for postponing the process expressing his embarrassment for choosing between his brother-in-law and son, she made it clear the Chief Minister is free to choose `one among them’. This has reportedly forced Naidu to take a `final’ decision.
It is also evident that the `stage managed’ revolt in Hindupur TDP, which was allegedly planted to makes Balakrishna keeps low on this issue, also helped Chief Minister to move ahead. It may be interesting to note that the revolt in Hindupur TDP was put in rest, soon after Balakrishna, for the first time conceded about the induction of his son-in-law into state cabinet. He also has openly made it clear yesterday that it he is not at all interested to be part of the cabinet.
Incidentally, before making this `confessions’ before the media in Vijayawada, Balakrishna had a meeting with Chandrababu Naidu, in the presence of Lokesh. As the announcement of election for the legislative council too has been made, it is only a matter of time when Lokesh will be taken into the council, setting the stage for his induction into the cabinet.
Though anyone taken into the cabinet will have six months’ before he or she gets elected to either house of the legislature, rumours are rife that Lokesh will first be taken into the council and then into the Cabinet which might happen after the budget session of the Assembly.
