The continuation of most `visible face’ of Chandrababu Naidu cabinet Labour Minister Kinjarapu Acham Naidu in the cabinet is said to be kept in dilemma and many party leaders in Srikakulam district are expecting he would be dropped during forthcoming cabinet reshuffle.
Since formation of new government in 2014, Acham Naidu was seen as most aggressive against opposition parties and used to refute with strong words if whoever makes any allegation or accusation against the Chief Minister. However, for the last few months he is not seen more aggressive.
Ignoring senior and potential leaders like TDP’s AP President Kala Venkata Rao and former minister Gouthu Syam Sunder Sivaji, Chandrababu Naidu had inducted him into the cabinet, due to his close association with Atcham Naidu’s brother and former union minister K Yerram Naidu, who was dead in a road accident few years ago.
However, in recent times Chandrababu Naidu has been expressing his anger and displeasure over activities of Acham Naidu, alleging he was working against party interest. Very recently, Chief Minister took him task after the revolt of Thotapalli oustees for non-implementation of rehabilitation package. Chief Minister found fault with the minister for his negligence, though the GO was issued a year ago and for the first time he extended his apology to the oustees.
Besides, Yerram Naidu’s son and Srikakulam MP Rama Mohana Rao has reportedly met Chief Minister with his family members recently and complained against his uncle’s style of functioning, bringing disrepute to their family. “We don’t bother if a cabinet berth is not given to our family, but please don’t allow to bring disrepute to my father”, he said to be pleaded politely.
According to TDP sources, Acham Naidu is cultivating insecurity with the growth of his brother’s son, as a young and honest politician. So, he has been bringing pressure on the officials stating not to honour any request from the young MP. However, Ramamohan Naidu is denying their family met Chief Minister and they are having differences with his uncle.
Former assembly speaker and TDP’s polit bureau member Pratibha Bharathi also recently has reportedly complained against minister’s attitude to the notice of the Chief Minister at party’s coordination committee meeting.
