Sardar Gabbar singh Distributors
Released last Summer, Pawan Kalyan‘s Sardar Gabbar Singh ended as one of the biggest disasters in 2017. The film made no show at the box office and ended as a huge loss venture for buyers and distributors. Sharrath Marar, close friend of Pawan Kalyan, produced the film and sold it for a record 75-80 Crore deal to distributors. As the film tanked heavily, distributors couldn’t recover their investments.
When they approached Sharrath Marrar to compensate for the huge losses, he promised to make amends with Pawan’s next film. He assured to sell Katamarayudu rights for a relatively low price so as to cover the loss for distributors who burnt their pockets with Sardar . Even Pawan Kalyan reduced his remuneration for the same reason.
But, Sharrath has conned distributors with his double dealing tactics. A distributor from Krishna region publicly announced that he lost two crores due to Sardar and demanded justice as Sharrath betrayed them by not selling Katamarayudu rights.
He alleged that the producer is planning to sell Katamarayudu rights to his close associates and industry friends to avoid compensation for Sardar distributors. Sharrath said to have disengaged himself from Sardar rights stating that it was Eros International that sold Sardar film worldwide.
Irked by this, distributors are planning to meet Pawan Kalyan to plead him justice and compensate for their losses. It remains to be seen how Pawan responds on this issue.
