The Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Y S Jaganmohan Reddy penned an open letter to the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. The letter was to remind the CM of the promise made to grant one job per family or pay allowance to the unemployed which the government failed to honour.
This is the first time that the opposition leader addressed an open letter to the CM. He said that the pamphlets distributed by TDP which seemed to be acknowledged by Narendra Modi and Pawan Kalyan assured to give one job to each household and Rs2000 monthly allowance until they secure a job.
In its 33 month tenure, TDP has done nothing substantial for the unemployed youth on the contrary, the government owes rupees 66000 to each family. The due amount aggregates to rupees 1.15 lakh crore for 1.75 crore households in the State.
He slated that Chandrababu has been making imaginary claims about lakhs of crores of rupees of investments pouring into the state. Employment opportunities are drab in the public sector, industrial sector and information technology both at the state and national level. This calls for immediate need to pay honorarium to the unemployed youth, wrote the YSRCP chief.
He suggested using of saturation method to pay the dues, instead of creating crooked committees like Kotaiah committee or Janmabhoomi committee.
In his two page letter, the opposition leader asked the Government to make adequate allocations in budget 2017-18 for paying the allowances. He also demanded the government to make a statement that hereafter the unemployment allowance will be paid every month.
Jagan noted that the growing unemployment and the unrest among the youngsters is not upright for any society. He even raised the issue of migration of people for jobs.
Furthermore he ensured to put pen to paper again about other unfulfilled election assurances made by the TDP government. In the event of the Government is not keeping up its promises, YSRCP leader said that the party would announce its future course of action.
The open letter was released by party leaders Ambati Rambabu, Vasireddy Padma and Kona Raghupathi.
