After a phenomenal start to 2017 with the highest grossing Sankranthi festival ever in Tollywood’s history, trade is eagerly anticipating for Summer as a slew of big ticket films are shaping up to hit the screens in the next four months. Pawan Kalyan‘s Katamarayudu is the first biggie of the season which is set for a humongous opening in the last week of this month.
Katamarayudu has done a staggering 100 Crore business before its release in both the Telugu states and trade is hoping that the film will open big taking advantage of the holiday season and the Ugadi festival. It was almost a month since the release of big film and Katamarayudu has a good advantage to shine at the box office and mint solid revenues banking on Pawan Kalyan’s huge craze and the hype surrounding the film.
With a record number of screens being planned by distributors in all major areas of Andhra and Telangana, Katamarayudu will be looking to set new box office records in the first week. In Overseas, the action drama is gearing up for a huge release and the first weekend numbers are going to be massive as per trade analysts reports.
Sardar Gabbar Singh, which released for Summer last year, tanked heavily at the box office. Now, Pawan Kalyan has a good chance to enter the 100 Crore club with Katamarayudu. As there are no notable releases till Baahubali 2, Katamarayudu will be looking for a superb box office show if it manages to garner good talk from the first day first show. Chiranjeevi’s Khaidi No 150, which released amidst high competition, become the second film in Telugu after Baahubali to enter the 100 Crore Club. Can Pawan Kalyan join the prestigious list with Katamarayudu ? We have to wait and see !
