Mr. Kishan Rao garu, the incharge for the Yadadri temple project, had approached me for a concept. Yadadri Project’s experience is very different, I should say. Renovation is common for any temple, but constructing it all over again is a different game. The Temple of Yadagirigutta is very new to me. I had never visited the place before. As I heard about the temple, I created a vision of the concept and incidentally when I spoke about this with Mr. CM, KCR garu, we were on the same page. That was the beginning of this beautiful journey.

The original temple sits on a five thousand square foot area. This will be now changed and will be increased to about 3.5 acres. Commercial complexes will be removed and the entrance to the temple will be channelized. Shopping complexes, kalayana mantapam, Guest houses etc will be incorporated into the new design. There will also be an Anjeneya statue which will be 108 ft in height. All these sketches were presented in front of Mr.CM . Abiding to the government rules, and faith in Lord, I presented my application to be absorbed and selected in this project in front of the selection committee. All went well and I was given this much waited opportunity of re-creation of the God’s Abode.
Definitely with no doubt my experience with Film Fraternity is what that added the unique flavor in my drawings. There was variety that I could display in the sketches. To understand the history and wealth of tradition behind this powerful temple, I frequently visited the temple and got clarifications through the Archakas. They were very helpful to me.
In Yadigirigutta. we are constructing two gopurams, the entrance will have the visage of Narasimha Swami, the pilgrims will be passing through the mouth of Narasimha. There will be a Gopuram on Swami’s head. Moment of joy that cannot be expressed when the presentation was given to the President, CM and Governor. It was seen with complete awe. At this point, it is needed to mention the devotion of our CM garu. KCR garu is a complete devotee when it comes to the subject of temple. He makes no compromise to the tradition. He never surpasses anything with utmost attention to details.
Presently, the concept is frozen. Detailing in progress. In the process, I grew in my personality. I learnt tolerance, patience and reflective thinking. I would owe all of this to Swamiji. Though now I get requests to construct temples, my idea is different. Even if I design one, that one temple should speak words. It should boast of its virtue by itself. It should go into history.
Another project in the pipe line in a Shiridi Sai Baba temple in New Jersey. Being an ardent devotee of Sai, this is yet another dream come true. This will be a replica of Shiridi temple in India. I want to maintain the peace and virtue in the temple and not make it a commercial place. I sincerely hope Baba showers me with this blessings… Saibaba has devotees from various faiths and I am doing something unique, will be giving a presentation next week in New Jersey. I will give my best and the rest lies in the hearts of the devotees.
