State government today accepted the resignation of Seethepalli Abheeshta, officer on special duty (OSD) in chief minister’s office with immediate effect.
Abheeshta joined the state government on 16 June,2014. He submitted his resignation on November 30, 2015.
A close friend of chief minister Naidu’s son Lokesh Naidu, Abheeshta became a crucial man in the administration ever since he stepped into the CMO.
As he was working as the proxy to Lokesh, he had to perform many duties in the past 17 months which had been seen by ministers and senior officials as Lokesh’s involvement in the governmental affairs.
But all maintained stoic silence , as any comment against abheeshta would be seen as attack on Lokesh.
Though rarely seen in public, the young man soon found himself in the eye of controversy. With his surreptitious activity of carrying files to Nara Lokesh becoming public, following the open letter from APCC president N Raghuvira Reddy to CM, Lokesh is said to have decided to recall him to the party work.
At a point of time, general administrative department had to defend his appointment from above stating that the appointment had been done as per the rule and everything was in order. Around the same time Abheeshta is said to have resigned.
The news, however, had been kept a closely guarded secret. But, his continued absence from the CMO raised doubts in the minds of many in CMO. But, today’s GO, released accepting his, resignation confirmed beyond doubt that he was recalled by the ‘rising son’ of CM before it was too late.
