ABN Radha Krishna’s ABN channel telecast a survey recently that gave a clear edge to the Telugu Desam Party in upcoming election and announced that TDP will win 101 seats in the 175-member Assembly. The survey gave 71 seats to the YCP and 3 to Jana Sena. As per the findings, the TDP is performing uniformly well in all regions. As per the same survey nearly 48.3 per cent wanted Chandrababu Naidu as CM again and Jagan came next with 41.1 per cent while Pawan got only 6.4 per cent support.
However, Radha Krishna actually tried to fool people with the name of the agency doing that survey. As per ABN, the survey is done by ‘Corporate Chanakya’ and the name of this organization is strikingly similar to ‘Today’s Chanakya’ that has been in the business of psephology since 1995. But Corporate Chanakya has not done any survey in the past. In 2014, Today’s Chanakya predicted for Telangana Assembly Elections TRS : 71 ± 9 seats Congress : 23 ± 7 seats BJP + TDP : 15 ± 5 seats Others : 10 ± 3 seats. In 2015, the same institute predicted 48 seats for AAP in Delhi Assembly elections. In 2017 AP elections, it predicted 285 seats to BJP. So, Today’s Chanakya has some credibility but what Radha Krishna published and telecast a survey that is done by ‘Corporate Chanakya’ the institute that never existed before couple of weeks. It seems the main intention of the channel is to mislead people who think ‘Chanakya’ has some credibility.
One will be even more shocked after visiting the site of Corporate Chanakya. In the page “Who we are”, they have completely copy-pasted the verbatim from ‘Today’s Chanakya’ website – which reads – “We have given out some fantastic analysis, which are not only remarkable but also undisputed. We have made unbiased projections having estimated the outcomes of every state and national election since our company was founded giving victory to Congress, BJP or any other regional party in the respective state / situation with a clear cut indication of our unbiased projection.” Only thing they changed is the year of founding the institution – while it is 1995 for Today’s Chanakya, it is 2014 for Corporate Chanakya. However, this Corporate Chanakya has not published any of it’s previous predictions vis-a-vis actual results.
Another Highlight is this website of Corporate Chanakya was launched just recently, even though the institute claims to be existing since 2014. ABN Radha Krishna needs to understand, gone are the days people falling for such cheap tactics in this social media era.
