Andhra Pradesh government today took a decision to make available critical treatment that would greatly reduce chances of death in road accidents.
The government has made admission of victims of road accident mandatory for all hospitals closer to the spot of accidents. Hospital are not expected to deny admission citing medico-legal reasons.
As per the decision, all road accident victims should be admitted by hospital, both Government or Private, immediately, provide free treatment including surgeries.
If the hospitals refuse to admit the victims for treatment – license of the hospital is liable be cancelled under Chemical and Establishment Act.
This decision has been taken in the road safety committee meeting convened by Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao today.
Krishna Rao also instructed officials to make wearing of helmet by the two wheeler riders compulsory from August 1, in Andhra Pradesh.
