Pawan Kalyan’s Katamarayudu kick started the Summer fest of 2017. Despite the huge release and strong hype, the film has managed to register only moderate numbers in its first weekend. The time tested template is one of the main reasons for disappointing the audience. As the collections have thinned down in weekdays, trade is now looking forward for this week’s releases.
Venky’s sports drama Guru is one of the three releases this week. Guru, an official remake of Tamil – Hindi blockbuster Saala Khadoos, is carrying good reports in Telugu too. The exclusive premiers are generating unanimously positive reports on the film. Also, there is no stiff competition for Guru as Puri’s Rougue and Nayanatara’s Dora are releasing amidst low buzz. So, Guru will have a slight edge over the other two films and will definitely kick off its box office journey on a strong note. Let’s see if Guru emerges as the first hit of this Summer ?
Directed by Sudha Kongara, Guru is about a washed up boxer, played by Venkatesh, who sees his dream by training a female boxer.
