Ever since the teaser of Pawan Kalyan’s Agnyathavaasi released, it has raised many doubts that the film is a rip-off of the French movie The Heir Apparent, which is based on a comic book Largo Winch. The story is about a business tycoon who is killed by a villain. The son of the businessman’s second wife returns from exile to claim the legacy of his father. The revenge drama forms the crux of story.
T-series, which had the copyrights of the French film, slapped a legal notice on Agnyathaavaasi producers. But the entire team has remained silent on the issue.
Telugu360 learnt that the issue has been settled amicably and an undisclosed huge amount has been forked out by the producer to T-series regarding the copyright issues. Unconfirmed sources say that many big names are involved and an amount of 5 Crores is what the producer shelled out in the last minute.
It may be recalled that Trivikram’s A..Aa faced criticism that the film’s story was a copy-book stuff from a novel Meena, but the director didn’t gave due credit to the novelist in titles.
