The O’OPS’ moments for Sasikala continues 5days after the revolt by the interim Chief Minister. O Panneerselvam today has 10MPs on his side after revolting 5days back against Sasikala Natarajan.
Sasikala is visiting the resort to train the MLAs on how to maintain unity in order to save the Amma government. Irony dies a thousand deaths when a caretaker is responsible for training the elected representatives of the state. She also recollected the scenes she witnessed after MGR’s death. She also raised the gender flag and held that she witnessed how difficult it is for women to survive in politics. Sasikala who is confident of forming the government, is ready to parade the MLAs before the Governor, the President or anybody.
Support pours in for Panneerselvam MPs and MLAs. Actors, Sportsmen and social media are backing the interim chief minister, however, he is not yet there. The interim chief minister needs to have 18MLAs on his side, however he now has seven MLAs support. If he gets the required support, V K Sasikala will not be able to form a government on her own.
The expulsion of ministers from AIADMK by Sasikala continues. The Raj Bhavan is still maintaining silence and everyone is looking up to the Governor. However, Sasikala said that delaying tactics is an attempt to create divisions in party.
The AIADMK has witnessed such split almost 3 decades ago. Post the demise of M G Ramchandran, the power struggle triggered between J Jayalalithaa and MGR’s wife Janaki Ramachandran. Jayalalithaa was openly humiliated and even groped when she went to pay condolences to MGR.
Ministers sought after Janaki to contest the election, while then the acting Chief Minister Nedunchezhian was firm on his decision to contest. Janaki had no political background like Sasikala, however Nedunchezhian like Panneerselvam has political experience and also had Amma as his aide.
Jayalalithaa said she found MGR’s death suspicious and demanded a probe into the circumstances similar to that of Paneerselvam. The Election Commission of India refused to recognize both these factions of the AIADMK as a true successor of MGR and allocated separate electoral symbols to these groups.
The center seems to be switching around with Sasikala and Panneerselvam which is similar to the Rajiv Gandhi Government. While the interim CM openly thanks BJP, Sasikala has been blaming DMK for the revolt and is going soft on the center.
At that point of time Governor Khurana invited Janaki to form the government, who also won the vote of confidence. Now everyone is witnessing police force being deployed at Raj Bhavan in Chennai while the governor’s call is awaited. Based on the current situations, the governor might ask both the parties to prove their majority.
