After his debut film bombed at the box-office, Akkineni Akhil is taking his own time to sign the next project. He was supposed to team up with Vamshi Paidipalli for a Hindi remake, but the project was put on hold due to unknown reasons. While there were reports that Vamshi backed out of the project, Akhil hinted that the project is not shelved and will take off soon.
In the meantime, an interesting buzz is doing rounds in the media. Dulquer Salmaan’s recent Malayalam gangster film Kammati Paadam is likely to be remade in Telugu and the makers are considering Akhil for the lead role. It is learnt that Akhil has been approached for the role, but he is yet to take a call on it. A close source revealed that the talks have just been initiated, but nothing has been finalized. The source added that Akhil is yet to watch the film.
Directed by Rajeev Ravi, the film was produced by Prem Menon.
