With his long delayed-and-now on floors second film not making much noise in media circles, Akhil Akkineni looks to be banking on other factors to stay in limelight.
The other day, the PR team of Akhil has released a press statement boasting of getting an invite to Karan Johar’s birthday bash as if it was an achievement of the Akkineni scion. On the eve of KJo’s birthday, he threw a grand party and sent invitations to a horde of celebs across film industries. Akhil is only one of the hundreds of celebs who received the invite. The young hero however tried to project the invite for publicity, which was utterly laughable.
This is not the first time Akhil has tried such publicity stunts. He has always craved to stay in news be it with his stint in Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) or signing brand endorsements even before making his silver screen debut. The actor often goes to Mumbai and lately he has shared selfies with the likes of Hrithik Roshan, Ranveer Singh and a few other Bollywood celebs.
Akhil’s intention might be to project himself as a potential pan-India star. Well, how could he become one when he failed to live up to the expectations of movie lovers in the Telugu states where he had a huge platform in the form of Akkineni fan base. Its high time the youngster realized he can win the adulation of movie lovers with real achievements be it on-screen or off-screen and not with cheap publicity stunts.
