Vijayawada: Bharatiya Janata Party AP president and Visakhapatnam MP, K Haribabu, asserted that the BJP and the TDP have benefited equally in the last elections because of the alliance. Refusing to comment on the statement of TDP MP Kesineni Nani that his majority in Vijayawada Lok Sabha Constituency had come down last time because of the alliance with the BJP, Haribabu, wanted the TDP to clarify on the statement. He said he would not give importance to the statements or comments made by individual leaders and asserted that he would react only to the official statement of the TDP.
When asked about the possibility of alliance to be continued with the TDP for the next elections, Haribabu said it was too early to talk about next elections. He further said that the party national leadership headed by Amit Shah would take a decision on the alliance depending upon the prevailing political situation at that time.
Haribabu said that the BJP government at the Centre during the last three years had done so much for Andhra Pradesh and the party leaders would explain that to the people from May 26. The BJP leaders would reach out to the people across the 175 Assembly segments and ensure that the developmental programmes and the welfare schemes of the Modi government reached the beneficiaries.
The BJP leader, when asked about the railway zone for the State, said that the proposal is being examined by the Central government and a decision would come at an appropriate time. He said that Amit Shah’s visit to Andhra Pradesh on May 25 would give a big boost to the party for its expansion in the State.
