After the surgical strike initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on black money, people are literally running after their money to search for save havens. From government employee to corporate bigwig, from producers to celebrities, all are in a hurry to save their money safe and secure and whether it is hard-earned or illegal wealth comes secondary.
At a time when celebrities make a high-profile appearances and budding comedians commute in swanky cars, this gentleman has a contrasting appearance and different viewpoint. Marked by simplicity, R. Narayana Murthy still travel in autorikshaw. He often have lunch in the Film Nagar mess set up for the artistes.
In an interview to a vernacular news daily, Narayana Murthy says, “why I wouldn’t have money? I made many superhit movies, why I wouldn’t have bank balance? I have no liking for cars and mansions or bungalows.” He made this habit of being simple during his childhood. “Even during college, I use to have only two pair of shirts and trousers. I had never used wrist watch or gold chain around neck,” he smiled.
“I just love to be simple, not because people should praise for this lifestyle,” he said.
On the same note, Narayana Murthy admitted that he spent money from his pockets liberally for constructing schools and hospitals and laying borewells in both the Telugu States of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Refuting that he amassed wealth in his home village in Andhra, the peoples star said that he is just a common man and not affiliated to any political party.
