A strong sarcastic tweet by Karnataka Congress MP BK Hariprasad has triggered angry reactions from the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders there. Hariprasad announced that BJP President Amit Shah is suffering from ‘Pig Fever’ but actually it is ‘swine flu’ that attacked BJP boss. Not stopping that, the Congress MP said if Amit Shah continues to interfere in Karnataka politics, he will suffer from diarrhea and vomittings as well.
These personal remarks led to strong criticism from the BJP Karnataka leaders who said Hariprasad should be immediately joined in a mental hospital. The immediate trigger for Hariprasad’s comments was recent move by the BJP leaders to win over some Congress and JDS MLAs to topple the Karnataka government there.
The Congress leaders have been very unhappy over the way in which the Modi-Shah duo are trying to have an iron like grip over the state politics. In last Assembly elections, there was a very strong fight battle between the BJP and the Congress where eventually the Congress took the lead in making the JDS with lesser MLAs to form the government. In the past two to three weeks, there was speculation that the BJP is back to its old tactics to destabilise the JDS-Congress alliance. BJP RS MP GVL Narasimha Rao demanded that Hariprasad be suspended from his post for his objectionable comments.
