BJP President Amit Shah, who addressed farmers convention in Tadepalligudam of West Godavari district, this evening, organised by the party, once again made a futile attempt to convince the people of Andhra Pradesh, that special package announced by the center for the state is superior than the special status, which was originally promised by the party in its election manifesto.
Though he failed to explain how package is superior, also tries to find fault with the previous Congress regime at the center stating that it was due to the recommendations of the 14th finance commission, which was constituted during UPA regime, it was not possible for the Narendra Modi government to announce special status.
However, it may be recalled that the finance commission chairman YB Reddy himself stated many times that his report nowhere dealt the issue of special issue. Even he went to the extent of stating that according special status needs a political decision, but not comes under the preview of the finance commission.
He also repeated the old song, he first stated during his March, 2016 public meeting in Rajahmudry that the center so fare provided Rs 1.40 lakh crore to AP. This statement was strongly refuted by Chief Minister Chadnrababu Naidu himself.
Likewise, he again said that his party will reimburse budget deficit amount of Rs 22,000 crore and gives tax remissions to attract industries in the state. As already Narendra Modi completed half of his term, he didn’t mentioned a time limit to fulfil his party’s assurances.
Union Ministers M Venkaiah Naidu, Nirmala Sitaraman and state president Dr K Harubabu were also present.
