Anam family has dictated political fortunes of several leaders in Nellore for over five decades. They have decided the fate of several MLAs, MLCs and ministers in the district. No government in the state dared to ignore them.
But after uninterestedly joining Telugu Desam Party 13 months ago, now seems to be repenting for doing a `grave political blunder’ in their life. They were particularly turned impatient due to indifferent attitude of the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu towards the assurances personally given by him at the time of their joining the party.
Elder brother Anam Vivekananda Reddy, who was reluctant from the very beginning to associate with Chandrababu Naidu, but for his younger brother and former finance minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy joined the party, was said to be shocked with the lukewarm response he had received from the Chief Minister, when he met him last week.
It may be recalled that at the time of their admission into the party, they were assured that Ramanarayana Reddy will be Atmakur assembly incharge, so that to give him seat in 2019 polls and Vivekananda Reddy will be made as MLC from Governor’s quota. As MLC elections are approaching, both the brothers tried to meet the Chief Minister at Undavalli last week, but failed to get his appointment for two days.
After Ramanarayana Reddy left for Hyderabad with discontent, Vivekananda Reddy succeeded to get two minutes time with the Chief Minister, through Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana and reminded his promise of MLC seat. But he was taken back when Chief Minister has reportedly replied that “already Ramanarayaan Reddy was made as Atmakur incharge and I know what to do more”. He also bluntly said that they need not to remind him every time.
Moreover, at a party review meet, earlier both Chandrababu Naidu and his son Nara Lokesh said to be `warned them’. While Lokesh cautioned him `not to interfere into functioning of Nellore Mayor”, Chief Minister warned them `not to be centre of controversies’.
Deploring towards the adamant attitude of Chief Minister towards them, Vivekananda Reddy has reportedly deplored with his supporters that during his long stint in Congress, no one dares to say like that.
