Controversial Denduluru MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar landed in one more controversy recently.The MLA and his associates detaining vigilence and enforcement officers and abusing them created sensation. Details as below:
The incident:
Vigilance and enforcement officers conducted a raid at Koppaka village in Pedavegi mandal as they received some information on illegal sand excavation activities happening here. The officers seized four vehicles that were involved in this illegal activity. Immediately after knowing the incident, MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar reached the venue and started arguing with officers. He confronted the officials and questioned “How dare you seize the vehicles in my constituency? How can you register cases against my followers?”. He demanded the officials to release the seized vehicles. Later, his brother and former sarpanch of Duggirala Chintamaneni Satish reached the place with 100 villagers and detained the officers for nearly 4 hours. Officers also told, villagers led by Chintamaneni Satish abused them. Vigilance officers also told that local revenue and police officials did not turn up despite having information.
The Complaint:
Later, Chintamaneni Satish and his followers took away their seized vehicles forcibly. Vigilence officers lodged a complaint with the Pedavegi police. But no case was registered by the police yet. Meanwhile, when media tried to seek explanation of MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar he abused them and left the place. Vigilance and Enforcement DG instructed the Regional Vigilance and Enforcement Officers to lodge complaints against the MLA and his men for obstructing the officials from discharging duties.

Attacking Vigilance and enforcement officers is really serious issue but somehow most of the TV channels (except a few channels) downplayed the incident and people coming to know the news from social media and national media. Surprising to see this as Chintamaneni’s followers not only detained Vigilance and enforcement officers but he also abused verbally reporters
Will he ever change? Will government take action on him?
This is not first time Chintamaneni Prabhakar behaving rude with officials. His attack on woman officer Vanajakshi is still debated by people. There were charges on him for beating an old woman, beating and abusing a physically handicapped person, abusing several people with their caste, attacking a bus driver. However, no action has been taken on him despite having video evidence in several charges. Another irony is he is whip in Assembly.
As of now, it looks like he will not change his ways and continue to do the same. We will have to wait and see whether the government or the system will take action on him or not.
