F2 is an upcoming entertainer starring Venkatesh and Varun Tej in lead roles. The film is directed by Anil Ravipudi and the music is composed by Devi Sri Prasad.
The album begins on a high note with Rechipodam sung by David Simon with fun play of keyboard and enjoyable rhythm section. Kasarla Shyam does a decent job with the lyrics which are peppy to hear. The interludes are foot tapping and follow the typical DSP suite. However, there is less scope for experimentation in this number.
Entho Fun is a breezy number with trance like beats coupled with soothing piano, violin and relaxing acoustic guitars. Sreemani’s lyrics are neat with optimism loaded over it. The electric guitar in the interlude and its duel with classical violin deserves a special mention. The chord progression takes the typical route and for a change DSP sounds mellowed with controlled energy levels.
The energy is pumped up with Honey is the Best sung by Hariharasudhan blended with strings, bass work and trance riffs. Lyrics by Srimani are fancy sounding with conversational approach. However, the rustic violin sounds very much out of place in this song.
Dhan Dhan is mass number sung by Hemachandra and Sravana Bhargavi and follows the regular path of peppy numbers. Apart from the feisty trumpets and rhythm section, the song doesn’t attempt to sound novel or fun filled.
The party continues with Dhan Dhan which attempts to be a disco number of contemporary style. Mansi and Sagar do it like a cakewalk to give a mass appeal. Balaji’s lyrics just fit the bill appropriately with not much tantalization.
The finale arrives with Ding Dong– the inevitable item song for any commercial album. Rahul Sipligunj and Malatho do a good job by pumping in additional energy to it. The interludes are passable and keep the flow going. Kasarla Shyam’s lyrics add a bit of Telangana flavor to the song and give a native touch.
Verdict:
F2 is another average album from DSP and for a multistarrer of this sort, the songs could have been much more thumping.
Our Picks: Entho Fun
