Violating his social justice claims, CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy has selected yet another Reddy as the new Chairman for the Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu Society. This is a prestigious organisation located in Tadepalli in Amaravati capital city area to act as a bridge between AP NRIs and their mother state. Now, Venkat Medapati is named as AP NRT Chairman. Like in the case of retired IAS officer Ajay Kallam Reddy, caste tag is not used in case of Venkat also as it would attract undue attention from other communities.
AP NRT was the brainchild of Chandrababu Naidu. Because of this, there was speculation that Jagan would wind up this unit considering his utter disregard for IT projects and development. Surprisingly, the CM allowed its existence to continue for now but its activities have come to a standstill just like the construction works of Amaravati Capital City.
Previous Chairman Dr. Vemuri Ravi Kumar stopped his activities as AP NRT Chairman the day the YCP emerged victorious in elections. Ever since, industry linked projects and skill training programmes were stopped. It is not yet known when Medapati Venkat will start his future works and what his vision is for taking AP NRT forward.
Reddys grabbed almost all the top nominated posts like Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams Chairman, AP Industrial and Infrastructure Corporation Chairperson, Capital Region Development Authority Chairman, Tirupati Urban Development Authority Chairman, etc.
