For obvious reasons, the Jaganmohan Reddy government made persistent requests to the Centre to send Home Ministry Joint Secretary AV Dharma Reddy on deputation to Andhra. Finally, the request was granted. Now, Dharma Reddy is expected to become JEO of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams. Presently, Basanth Kumar is taking additional charge after Srinivasa Raju, who was JEO for a long time, was shifted out of the post.
Yet again, Dharma Reddy is one of those officers who are known to be die-hard loyalists of the YS Rajasekhara Reddy family. He had served as the Special Officer of TTD in the past. TTD JEO post is considered very important in the affairs of the Tirumala administration. Already, SV Subba Reddy is made Chairman of the Board.
After Srinivasa Raju was shifted out of TTD, the government kept the JEO post vacant till the Centre gave its nod for sending Dharma Reddy on deputation. Meanwhile, there was no further progress on deputation of senior Telangana IPS officer Stephen Ravindra to come and join as Intelligence Chief of Andhra. He was also known to be a loyalist of YSR family. There are many more IAS and IPS officers like Srilakshmi asking for deputation to Andhra. Some of them have already lost hopes on this possibility as the Centre would not encourage so many officials to go on deputation to one single state.
