In what can be said as a path breaking announcement, Andhra Chief Minister N. Chandra Babu Naidu stated that the government is likely to give reservation for the poorer sections of the upper caste. While addressing his party men at the three day annual meet ‘Mahanadu’ in Tirupathi, the TDP supremo said that the state government is contemplating reservation benefits for those who are economically backward in the upper caste.
He added that they are planning to conduct a survey which will decide the benefits that needed to be provided for those who are financially backward in the upper caste. Adding further, he said that the government is taking thorough measures and drafted a special sub plan for BC welfare with a 8,600 Crore budget allocation. Naidu reiterated that the government has earmarked funds for the improvement of the Kapu community and also providing financial aid for Brahmins.
