If the YCP came to power in 2014, Donakonda area in Prakasam district would have become the Capital City of Andhra. At that time, many YCP leaders and sympathizers were over confident of Jagan victory and bought huge tracts of lands in Donakonda. YCP lost the election. Later, TDP selected Amaravati as Capital. Jagan won 2019 election and stopped all Amaravati Capital City works. His Ministers are talking against Amaravati. This has triggered rumours on shifting of Capital to Donakonda where land prices went up overnight. CM Jagan has not tried to clarify on this issue till now.
Amid these rumors and concerns, TDP and BJP leaders have begun describing Jagan as a Tughlaq for taking all wrong decisions to destroy future of AP state. It is common to compare to Tughlaq if any Chief Minister’s administrative decisions cause hardship and pain to the people. In history, Tughlaq was known for his administrative reforms but one single big mistake made him an anti-people leader.
Tughlaq ordered his citizens to shift from Delhi to Daulatabad making it the new capital of his kingdom. He could not create enough facilities in the new place. As it proved inconvenient and unviable, Tughlaq again shifted capital back to Delhi. Many people suffered and lost their lives. Ever since, Tughlaq went down in history as a bad administrator. Will Jagan meet the same fate in respect of Donakonda? The political situation is turning totally against Jagan in this respect as of now.
