Andhra Pradesh government has decided to celebrate the 12-day Godavari Maha Pushkaralu- 2015 as a national event Telugu people in and around Rajahmundry.
Beginning on July 14, the event will go on for 12 days till July 25. However, a curtain raiser event has been planned for July 13.
To set the mood of Pushkaralu among people, 24 LED screens telecasting Pushkaralu-related programs, are being set up at various centres. BSNL is working on setting up free Wifi hotspots with 5G connectivity at various locations including bus stops.
For accommodate pilgrims, all the available spaces including schools, colleges, universities, hotels, resorts, etc are being booked. Temporary changing rooms and tents will also be erected.
It is decided that purified sacred Godavari jalam should be bottled and sold at stalls to people on the lines of Gangajal.
For the benefit of those who are interested in organizing Annadanam or setting up of stalls at food festivals, the government will provide vegetables at subsidized rates to prevent unscrupulous elements from making fast buck on the demand. Vegetables will be supplied through Mobile Rythu Bazars at regulated rates while milk and dairy products will also be made available aplenty. Sky lantern festival and food festivals will be organized every day in Rajahmundry. Laser shows will be key highlight of this year’s pushkaralu.
