Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu who is touring the US, in his fourth day, visited the seed science center at the Iowa state University. Followed by that an agreement to set up mega seed park in Andhra Pradesh was signed between the state government and state University of Iowa.
Chandrababu and Iowa State University Dean Professor Wendy Wintersteen initiated the first phase the project. The TDP supremo in his keynote address held that he visited Iowa to understand the best practices and bridge the gap between the farmers and information about Agriculture. With this tour he aims to make agriculture prosperous not only in AP but also in India.
To increase the seed productivity and thereby income to farmers, Chandrababu urged the Mega Seed Park project to be implemented on priority basis. He hopes that the project will start giving results by October 2017. Through this agreement, AP would soon become a hub for quality seeds and a major seed exporter.
