Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh government and a Japanese coastal state of Toyama to sign agreements for collaboration in pharmaceuticals, manufacturing and tourism development.
A 15-member delegation led by the Toyama Governor Takakazu Ishii, Toyama State Assembly Chairman Sakae Yokoyama, Consul-General of Japan in Chennai, Seiji Baba, along with the Federation of Toyama Prefectural Chambers of Commerce and Industry’s chairman, Shigeo Takagi have arrived at Vijayawada on Sunday.
The fifteen member delegation includes representatives from manufacturing, pharmaceutical and tourism sectors from the Japan’s Prefecture, to explore ties for mutual collaboration in setting investments in the new capital city region of Amaravati. It is the first Japanese delegation coming to the area from Toyama, known as the top international manufacturing hub in pharmaceuticals, electronic parts and devices of general industrial manufacturing, including industrial robots and the like.
The delegation was extended grand welcome by the district authorities and Andhra Pradesh Special Representative in Delhi, K Rammohana Rao on their arrival at Vijayawada. The delegation would tour the Amaravati area for a first-hand feel of the area, and will hold discussions with the senior officials on the mutual terms of interest for Toyama based industries to invest in Amaravati area. Agreements between the two states would be inked in the presence of Toyama Governor, and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday.
