Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh has sought Taiwan’s collaboration to boost the state’s electronics, textiles, and footwear industries. During a meeting with Richard Chen, Director General of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in Chennai, Lokesh discussed potential partnerships to enhance these sectors and create job opportunities.
Nara Lokesh emphasized the need for Taiwan’s expertise in electronics, textiles, and footwear manufacturing. He highlighted Andhra Pradesh’s policies and incentives aimed at attracting foreign investments. The Taiwanese delegation assured full support for the development of these industries in the state.
The minister explained the state’s efforts to simplify business processes through the “Speed of Doing Business” initiative. He assured the delegation that the government would provide complete support to Taiwanese companies looking to set up operations in Andhra Pradesh. Lokesh also proposed the establishment of special parks dedicated to electronics, textiles, and footwear manufacturing.
Lokesh stressed the importance of preparing the youth for industry-ready roles. He shared his vision of transforming the education system to ensure students are job-ready upon graduation. The minister also discussed curriculum reforms in engineering education to bridge the gap between academia and industry.
The meeting marks a significant step towards strengthening Andhra Pradesh’s industrial growth through international collaboration. With Taiwan’s support, the state aims to become a hub for electronics, textiles, and footwear manufacturing, creating ample job opportunities for its youth.
