Andhra Pradesh government initiated step to set up country specific desks to attract investments to the state, which is being projected as Sunrise state. As part of this nodal officers will be appointed to each country which wants to do business with Andhra Pradesh. Desks will be set up for at least dozen countries making it Andhra version of “foreign office’ in Amaravati. This is in tune with the statement chief minister Chandrababu Naidu gave at Sixth Heads of Indian Mission Conference organized by the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi
in February.
Chief Minister Naidu said Andhra Pradesh was strategically positioned to attract foreign investments and listed out the areas, including the proposed capital being built in Guntur district. He said his state identified areas of cooperation with Australia, Germany, South Korea, Brazil, Malaysia, Taiwan, China, Gulf countries and the USA.
Putting Naidu’s idea into practice, the state government on Wednesday changed the name of ‘AP Invest’ as ‘SunRise AP’ with an objective of doing business with super stars of world trade such as Japan, China, Singapore, Germany, France etc. True to its objective, the Sunrise AP will start working from a swanky premises. To set up the office state government sanctioned Rs 5 crore to the re-born. It is a different thing the CEO of the public sector entity has sent a proposal for Rs 50 crore to set up office. Everything will be in tune with the objective. The office will acquire language experts to deal with these countries which are mostly non-English states. Similarly sector specific consultants will be appointed and new furniture and new computers will also be acquired.
