Andhra Pradesh Congress today urged the people of Andhra Pradesh to send a fistful of soil or sachet of water from their villages and towns to Prime Minister in protest against his non-fulfillment of promise of special category status to state. The party today released poster giving the address of Prime Minister resident in New Delhi to dispatch the Matti (soil). Party state president N Raghuvira Reddy urged the people to observe the ” Matti Satyagraham ” with the spirit of Salt Satyagraham organized by Mahatma Gandhi for a noble cause of India. Raghuvira requested sarpanches, ward members, MPTC, ZPTC members, ward councilors in the municipal areas, municipal chair persons, corporation mayors, ZP chairpersons and MLAs and MPs to collect the soil from towns or village tanks or water from tanks to dispatch to the PM’s address.
He also called upon the poets, artistes, intellectuals and students also to participate in the ‘Matti Satyagraham’ and make it a success. ” The program has a noble objective of getting the promise made on February 20, 2014 on floor of the Parliament by the then Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh honored by the NDA government,” he said.
