Indian Cricket team former captain Mohammad Azharuddin on Saturday flayed on the Hyderabad Cricket Association and its president Dr. G. Vivek.
Speaking at a press conference, Azhar said that he began his cricket career from Hyderabad and reached captaincy from here. “Yes, I have elected as MP from UP. But, I did not register my name with UP cricket clubs. Is this the reason for expelling me from HCA?” he questioned.
He said that HCA is misguiding everyone over few issues. “Due to the behavior of the committee, many rural cricketers are losing opportunities. I am not a member in Telangana Cricket Association. But, I am ready to work to develop cricket in Telangana,” he said.
Mr. Azhar said that the T-20 matches being organized by the HCA are against rules. “Vivek did not get approval from the committee to give his father’s name to the T-20 league. Organizing the T-20 league on his father’s name with HCA’s logo is against rules. They alleged that I didn’t get clearance from BCCI. But, they should know that I got clearance from High Court. I have already sent a report to BCCI on the matter,” he said.
He alleged that Vivek tried to put the court orders as secret. “I am taking this issue as serious and will go for legal action. HCA is not implementing Justice Lodha’s recommendations. I demand enquiry on HCA’s corruption practices. Violations have taken part in HCA elections. Vivek’s selection is against democracy,” he said.
