The crowd pleasing epic fantasy has placed Indian cinema on international pedestal and also bagged accolades in many renowned film festivals across the globe. The massive box office haul of the first part has given an unprecedented hype to the sequel, for which the filming is currently underway.
Telugu360 has exclusively learnt about the overseas business deal of Baahubali: The Conclusion. As per our sources, K-Entertainments has bagged the distribution rights of the sequel for a whopping 95 Crores. This includes complete negative rights for Tamil domestic market and Overseas rights for Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. This is a record deal by any sorts. It is well known that the first part grossed $7 Million in USA alone and has created huge anticipation among the trade circles about the second part. Many companies have been vying for the theatrical rights but K-Entertainments sealed the deal by offering a stunning price.
“This is an abnormal price, even considering the fact that this is Bahubali and a Rajamouli movie. At this rate, US Telugu rights will have to be sold between 30 -35 Crores, a significant premium over Bahubali – Part 1 share. Will be interesting to see if exhibitors can make any profits at these prices” opines a well known mid west distributor. It is heard that they are planning to release the film across 1,000 Screens in overseas. Arka Media Works is the production unit behind this magnum opus.
