Recently, Baahubali was released in Taiwan, as a precursor to a wider Chinese release later this year. The team wanted to check the public feedback from South East Asian audiences, to see how the film would be received from a cultural perspective.
To the delight of the team, the experiment proved to be a success. Though the film was sold for a relatively small price to this area, no other Telugu film or for that matter Indian film even did this kind of business in the area. The money spent by the distributor was quickly recovered and social media analytics have indicated that the response from Taiwanese fans is super positive.
This should come as a good boost for the Chinese release and post-production work is currently underway for the same. Baahubali is also going to release in Peru this week.
