Hit-maker and master storyteller SS Rajamouli’s record shattering epic fantasy, Baahubali: The Beginning, will have its much awaited sequel hitting the screens in April 2017. The first part has punched out an estimated 600 Crore worldwide share after its release on July 10th last year. The crowd pleasing epic fantasy has placed Indian cinema on international pedestal and also bagged accolades in many renowned film festivals across the globe. The massive box office haul of the first part has given an unprecedented hype to the sequel, for which the filming is currently underway.
Telugu360 has learnt about the overseas business deal of Baahubali: The Conclusion. As per our sources, reputed overseas film company ‘Great India Films’ has bagged the distribution rights of the sequel for a whopping 45 Crores, a record deal by any sorts. It includes Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam North America (US & Canada) rights. As per the deal, Hindi will be released through the same distributor on a commission basis. It is well known that the first part grossed $ 7 Million in USA and this has created huge anticipation among the trade circles about the second part. Many companies have been vying for the theatrical rights but Great India Films sealed the deal by offering a stunning price.
It is heard that they are planning to do a massive release in North America. Arka Media Works is the production unit behind this magnum opus.
