After a week-long open revolt by a powerful section of TDP leadership in his Hindupur constituency against his personnel assistant Sekhar’s alleged egoistic and corrupt practices, MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna today announced that he had withdrawn his PA.
During a meeting with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, in the presence of his son-in-law and TDP’s general secretary Nara Lokesh, he informed that last night itself he had asked his PA to leave Hindupur immediately.
In this regard while discussing about recent uproar among party circles in his constituency with regard to the highhanded attitude of his PA, Balakrishna has assured that he will not spare anyone who brings disrepute to the party and also the government.
Interestingly, Balakrishna has taken this step within 24 hours after the ultimatum was serviced by the local discontented TDP leaders, led by former MLA C C Venkatarayudu and party senior leader Ambika Lakshminarayana.
It may be recalled that, besides police restrictions stating that no permission was given for a meeting, the discontent group held a meeting on Sunday and given ultimatum that if Sekhar was not removed within a week, they would all resign from the party. They have also decided to start relay hunger strike at NTR’s statue in Hindupur.
They alleged that for the last two and half years misusing the name of Balakrishna, his PA has been resorting to severe corrupt practices and ignoring local TDP leaders, who have been working for the party since decades. Lepakshi and Chilamattur ZPTCs, besides several MPTCs have already submitted their resignations to the party leaders.
In this regard, Chandrababu Naidu has reportedly expressed discontent over the attitude of some local leaders for raising revolt banner without resorting to represent their grievances at party forums. He warned that he would not tolerate group politics within the party.
