Telugu Desham Party leaders have been demanding the central government to confer Bharat Ratna to former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N T Rama Rao.
Union Home Ministry has replied to TDP MP Kesineni Nani’s letter requesting Bharat Ratna to be conferred posthumously for actor-cum-politician Late NTR. In the reply, centre said they have forwarded the letter to Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) since the PM recommends the names of awardees to the President.
The stated that the letter will be deliberated upon and the required decision will be made. However, this doesn’t mean ensure undertaking to give the highest civilian award. Nonetheless, after passing several resolutions in TDP Mahanadu year-on-year, finally there is some movement in this regard.
