The Telangana State Government appointed a sub committee to look into various issues affecting the Film Industry and its members. The sub committee has now come up with a set of proposals that will soon be okayed by the Government.
One of these proposals will give a very big boost to small films in the state of Telangana. The Government is expected to pass a rule, altering the show timings of single screens. Instead of the usual 4 shows beginning at 11am, single screens will now be required to have 5 shows everyday.
Out of the 5 shows, one show has to be allotted exclusively to small budget films. The rules and guidelines for this will be laid out and this mandatory requirement will ensure that small films don’t get kicked out of theaters for big budget movies.
Time and again, promising small films had to make way for big budget releases and the loss of screens never allowed them to gain enough traction.
