Controversial biopic specialist Ram Gopal Varma has a readymade script with all twists and turns and ingredients that required for a biopic in his hand now: Nayeemuddin. And, title could be ‘N-Gang’ and it will be, for sure, a sensational docudrama thriller!
The life of maoist-turned-mafia don, who was killed in a police operation this week, provides all the masala RGV looks for. The director with a difference RGV can consider the following points to make a film on Nayeem this time.
- An ordinary youngster with a blend of dare devilishness and revolutionary zeal
- Bringing snakes and scorpions to college to show off his machismo
- Joining in naxal movement with an aim to serve the poor and downtrodden
- Killing an IPS officer in LB stadium in the heart of Hyderabad
- Coming out of the naxal movement following differences with top leaders
- Baying for the blood of top Maoists openly
- Winning the hearts of top cops
- Launching joint operations against maoists with police
- Brutally killing more than 20 maoist-sympathisers and civil liberties activists at his will
- Using snakes to intimidate his rivals and torturing them in vans while making trips on the roads of Hyderabad
- Getting into land settlements and deals in three to four states
- Controlling surrendered naxalites with his open threats
- Working with three different governments (TDP, Cong and TRS) hand in hand
- Partying with politicians and police officers
- Terrorizing politicians and rich for his share in their nocturnal activities
- Amassing crores of rupees worth (they put it at Rs.7,000 cr) lands and properties
- Leading a normal life to avoid public glare
- Using women as human shields as well as baits
- Buying infants and kids for future purposes
- A muslim taking different kind of terrorism
Come on RGV, what else you want? If you start looking at the story from your crime-rimmed glasses, you may get some more filmy elements to make it interesting.
After achieving tremendous success with cycle chains (Shiva) and swirling female hips (Rangeela) and so on, RGV had made a two-part bilingual (Hindi and Telugu) film, titled: Rakta Charitra, based on the story of the former TDP leader Paritala Ravi in 2010 and the same was dubbed into Tamil as Ratha Sarithiram in a single part. It was directed by RGV and penned by Prashant Pandey.
Another flick on the notorious sandalwood smuggler Veerappan this year, titled, Killing Veerappan, was made in Kannada and dubbed into Telugu and Tamil. It was directed and written by RGV.
Going by the past experiences, RGV takes a lot of time to study before making a biopic. Veerappan was eliminated on October 18, 2004 in a special operation while Paritala Ravi was killed by a private assassin gang on January 4, 2005.
Buoyed by the latest success, RGV had given a hint that he would hit the Hollywood too soon. He tweeted: “International version is just “Veerappan” and not “Killing Veerappan”..it’s a biopic nd will have cmpltly new set of actors and characters.” He added, “”Killing Veerappan” is just about the killing operation whereas the international version of Veerappan is about his origin and rise (sic).”
It is not a bad idea per se. we bet, Nayeemuddin story will suit the bill for international audience.
