The BJP state level meeting held in Guntur today was turned into a big event to project Sujana Chowdary as the party’s future strategist in Andhra. The fact is that Sujana has never been in direct elections before. He is currently Rajya Sabha MP. BJP national leaders said that the party would gain greater strengths in the state under the leadership of Sujana Chowdary.
The game plan of BJP is to attract a chunk of voters from the Kamma and Kapu communities. This is very vital for the future growth of the party because of their strong vote banks. The party thinks to highlight Sujana and other RS MPs to attract more leaders from the TDP. This is to get greater response to its ongoing membership drive.
The BJP has realised that only religious polarisation will not help it in Andhra. This is why it is changing its strategy to highlight top leaders from Kammas and Kapus to attract these vote banks. The BJP’s caste politics may give tough time to TDP and Jana Sena in future.
