It is now evident that controversial Rajya Sabha member Amar Singh’s return to Samajwadi Party(SP) recently after six years was originally planted by BJP with the help of Shivpal Yadav, only to infuse division within the ruling party family in Uttar Pradesh. It is obvious that Amar Singh’s suspension from the party remains as a critical issue for the discord between party’s supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.
SP senior leaders are suspecting that this was plotted by BJP, after realising that as long as SP is intact it would be difficult for them to make headway into the state. After his expulsion from the party in 2010, Amar Singh made several attempts to gain some political base first by floating his own party Rashtriya Lok Manch in 2011 and later joining RLD in March 2014. He even attempted to enter BJP on the pretext of securing Rajya Sabha seat.
Sensing that his entry into the party would be of no use, BJP is indicted of plotting his re-admission into SP. Two recent incidents clearly reveal the BJP’s plot.
After the one-on-one meeting between the uncle and the nephew at CM’s residence a ‘compromise formula’ was said to be reached. Even Mulayam Singh called for a press meet on Friday for a ‘big announcement’. Indications of a patch-up emerged on Thursday night when Akhilesh decided to receive his father at Amausi airport.
However, he abandoned the idea upon learning that Amar Singh had accompanied his father on the chartered flight. According to SP insiders Amar Singh had deliberately flew to Lucknow as he had got wind that Mulayam would endorse his expulsion.
