Telangana BJP protested against Revanth Reddy Government’s decision to allow relaxation in office timings for Muslim employees during Ramzan festival season. Raising voice against Congress Government’s move, Telangana BJP vice president Ramchandar Rao termed it as the height of appeasement politics.
“Congress Government in Telangana has brought in a GO allowing Muslim employees to leave office early during Ramzan festival season. This is nothing but appeasement politics at its highest level. Giving a holiday for a day or two is reasonable. But allowing employees to leave office early for a month is completely unacceptable,” said BJP senior leader and former MLC N Ramchandar Rao.
“There are many Hindu festivals in Telangana. But Government has never given any relaxation to Hindu employees for these festivals. But it has gone extra mile to appease Muslims employees. Congress Government is focused more on vote bank politics rather than on administration,” further said Ramchandar Rao, highlighting the double standards of Congress Government when dealing with Hindus and Muslims.
Ramchandar Rao signed off demanding Revanth Reddy Sarkar to withdraw the GO allowing relaxation for Muslim employees during Ramzan.
Telangana Government has issued a GO on Monday, allowing Muslim employees to leave an hour early during Ramzan month. The relaxation is applicable to all the Muslim employees working in government departments across the state, including outsourcing staff.
