Reddy leaders enjoyed power during decades of Congress domination in United AP and at the Centre. After reorganization, both Congress and Reddy leaders lost power in AP and Telangana states in 2014. Reddy leaders in Telangana Congress tried to defeat TRS in 2018 but they failed. In 2019 AP election, Reddys threw their weight behind Jaganmohan Reddy and returned to power. However, they can no longer enjoy the kind of uncontrolled power they had during Congress Central regime.
All said and done, it’s an undoubted fact that Jagan had total blessings of PM Modi and Bihari poll consultant Prashant Kishor to oust Chandrababu Naidu and weaken TDP permanently. The BJP retained power at the Centre. Its next immediate target is Telangana. BJP wants to use Jagan as a weapon to attract Reddy leaders from Congress and TRS into its fold to seize power in 2024. It will achieve twin targets of destroying Congress and increasing MP seats for 2024 general election. BJP game plan is to use Reddy leaders as political missiles to weaken regional parties Telugu states.
