Reiterating that Chandrababu Naidu had least concern for people’s issues and was busy in pursuing his personal and political agenda, YSR Congress demanded a categorical assurance on special status and MSP to farmers among other issues from the chief minister.
‘Chief Minister has undertaken dozens of Delhi trips but the outcome was had never been revealed. Nor has happened anything tangible while the special category status remains a mirage. No purposeful statement was made on the procurement of farm produce,’ party senior leader Botsa Satyanarayana said here on Saturday.
‘People of the state have pinned many hopes and aspirations on the special status and the assurances that have been included in the State Reorganisation Act but the outcome is a naught and TDP government should explain whether or not it is pursing the matter.
Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu and chief minister had been giving contradictory statements on the issues mentioned in the State Reorganisation Act which were sending confusing signals to the people, Botsa said.
“Polavaram, which is the most important project intended to serve multiple purposes, unfortunately there have been no signs of progress. The state government state should explain as to why there has been not progress on even though huge amount spent on the project. The state should also reveal whether it has discussed the issue with the Centre, if so what was the outcome,” he said.
In wake of the affidavit filed by the Central government on the levy, the State should implement the Swaminathan Committee recommendations in the true letter and spirit instead of paying lip service and issuing GOs which do not translate into action,’ he said adding that the facts and figures of procurement of paddy and other crops should be placed in public domain.
The chief minister and the finance minister have been giving contradictory figures on growth rate and even by assumption of the figures, the indicators are not to be seen in the form of development anywhere in the state, he said.
