Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was offered to confer title of `Brahmana Bandhu’ and he was asked to give them two MLC seats in the forthcoming MLC polls, besides representation in the state cabinet, so that to take partnership in the governance.
Representative of Andhra Pradesh Archaka Samakhya today met him and praised for providing inheritance rights to all archakas working in temples managed by Endowment department in the state. Stating that they have been fighting for this right since three decades, they said that the GO issued in this regard was a `historic’ one.
Thanking the Chief Minister at Velagapudi secretariat for his bold initiative, they said that they would honour him conferring `Brahmana Bandhu’ title. They also said that this bold initiative would rescue about 40,000 poor Brahmin families.
However, in this regard they urged him to provide suitable political representation for Brahmins in the state. Recalling that there is no representation for them in the state cabinet and also among legislators, they pleaded to spare two MLC seats for Brahmins, so that to induct one of them into the state cabinet. Hereafter, they said they would perform archana every day in the name of Chandrababu Naidu and his family members in all temples of the state.
In this regard, they recalled that the credit goes to Chandrababu Naidu for protecting endowment lands from encroachments in 1997. They also appreciated him for coming to their rescue by helping poor Brahmins in housing, performing upanayam and medical needs. They also appreciated him for the first time in the country Brahmin Corporation was established to eradicate poverty among Brahmins.
