Superstar Mahesh Babu’s latest offering Brahmotsavam has been receiving a disastrous talk since its release on Friday. The dismissive web reviews and the poor word of mouth have dented the collections from afternoon shows on the first day and they have further nosedived on Saturday and Sunday. Trade circles predict that the film is heading towards becoming one of the biggest disasters in Tollywood.

Mahesh Babu previously had embarrassing flops, but the result of Brahmotsavam is likely to hurt his image more. After attaining stardom post Pokiri, movies like Sainikudu, Khaleja, 1 Nenokkadine and Aagadu have tanked heavily at the box office, but he has bounced backed strongly to keep his image intact. In terms of collections, Brahmotsavam is likely to end as the biggest flop in Mahesh Babu’s career. Everyone is surprised how has he given nod to such a lifeless script after scoring a blockbuster with his previous film. Trade circles are utterly disappointed looking at the first two days collections and started doubting Mahesh Babu’s stamina.

Brahmotsavam did a solid pre release business as it was sold for huge prices in all areas. Now, the box office prospects of the film look bleak and most of the distributors are going to incur heavy losses. For someone like Mahesh Babu, this ignominious result will surely effect his star image to a great extent.
