Dr BR Ambedkar Open University employees are all set to go on an agitation, protesting against Government’s decision to allot 10 acres of land from BRAOU to Jawaharlal Nehru Fine Arts University (JNFAU).
Members of various employees organisations of BRAOU formed a Joint Action Committee (JAC) and formed an action plan for about month-long protests.
BRAOU employees have taken up a protest path, as Telangana Higher Education Dept issued an order on 19-09-24 allotting 10 acres from BRAOU to JNFAU.
“BRAOU itself needs more land for expansion and future activities. But Government has allotted 10 acres from BRAOU to JNFAU, which is completely unacceptable. As soon as we got to know about it, we met several officials and key decision makers in Government and urged to take the decision back. But there is no response from Government’s side. Left with no choice we have planned an agitation from October 21,” said Prof Pallavi Kabde, chairperson of BRAOU JAC, explaining about the decision to take up agitation.
As part of agitation, BRAOU JAC has planned activities like wearing black badges, Rastha Rokho, Vanta Varpu, rally, hunger strike and University Bandh from Monday onwards.
