For Sankranthi 2017, we have seen the clash of Megastar Chiranjeevi and Balayya Babu’s films. Thankfully, both the films succeeded at box office. For the same lucrative festival next year, we are in for the mother of clashes in the form of highly anticipated films of Pawan Kalyan and Mahesh Babu clashing head on.
When the shooting of Mahesh Babu’s new film in the direction of Koratala Siva has begun a couple of days ago, a strong confirmation has come from the team that they were eyeing Sankranthi 2018 slot.
Until recently, it was heard that Pawan Kalyan-Trivikram’s film was aiming for Dussehra this year. But, latest reports suggest that the decision has been taken to place this highly anticipated entertainer in Sankranthi 2018 race. It is also heard that Mahesh has announced the release of SPYder for Dussehra only after he had got a confirmation that Pawan-Trivikram project has shifted to Sankranthi.
Known to be the top 2 crowdpullers of Tolywood, both Pawan and Mahesh enjoys support of humongous fan bases of their own besides having the adulation of general audiences. It would be no less than an earthquake at box office if their films clash especially during Sankranthi season.
Unperturbed of this clash, US buyers are betting high on both these films considering only the stellar combinations, Pawan-Trivikram and Mahesh-Koratala. Not a penny less than $3M is being quoted for each of these films which may prove risky for buyers in case of a clash. Moreover, 1 or 2 small yet content-rich films may also eye Sankranthi season, as we have witnessed in the last two years.
Buyers should be wary of this clash before betting big bucks.
